Resume tools that don't hold your career hostage
ThunderCV is a free, private resume builder made for the Indian job market — no subscription, no sign-up, and no watermark on your PDF.
Why we built ThunderCV
Applying for jobs in India is already expensive. Between travel, certifications and the sheer time it takes, the last thing a candidate needs is a resume builder that locks the download button behind a ₹1,200-a-month subscription — after you have already typed in every detail of your career.
That pattern is everywhere. You spend forty minutes filling in a beautiful template, hit Download, and discover the free plan gives you a watermarked image, or a trial that auto-renews. ThunderCV exists because that felt like a bad deal for people who are, by definition, between paychecks.
How ThunderCV is different
- Your data never leaves your browser. There is no account, no database and no server-side copy of your resume. Everything — parsing your uploaded file, rendering the preview, generating the PDF — happens on your own device.
- No sign-up wall. Open the editor and start typing. We do not ask for an email address to let you see your own work.
- Honest pricing. Building, editing and previewing your resume cost nothing, and so do the JD matcher and the cover letter generator. A download is a one-time ₹49 — not a subscription, and not a price that goes up once you have typed everything in.
- Built for Indian recruiters and Indian ATS setups. Templates handle the things that actually come up here: multiple phone formats, city + state locations, CGPA alongside percentages, and notice periods.
What "ATS-friendly" means here
Most large Indian employers and staffing firms run resumes through an Applicant Tracking System before a human sees them. These systems read your PDF as text. They get confused by multi-column tables, text inside images, unusual fonts and headers placed in the page margin.
Every ThunderCV template outputs real, selectable text in a predictable reading order, with standard section headings the parsers recognise. The built-in ATS checker then scores the content itself — whether your bullets are quantified, whether your skills are specific enough, and whether the sections a recruiter expects are present.
Who it's for
- Freshers writing a first resume with projects and internships instead of job history.
- Working professionals switching roles who need something updated tonight, not next week.
- Career switchers who need to reframe existing experience for a new function.
- Anyone applying at scale who wants to tailor a resume per job description without redoing the layout each time.
